Stella McCartney Fall 2012 Jacket

This brown tweed blazer from Stella McCartney’s Fall 2012 collection channels the season’s play on proportion. The Vogue review of the show highlighted the bold, padded hips and sharply defined shapes that distilled “how women want to dress now.”

Cut with an exaggerated hourglass profile, the blazer cinches at the waist before sweeping outward into padded hips - a motif seen throughout the show. The wool tweed is stiff and holds its shape, yet has a hint of stretch for a comfortable wear. Up close, McCartney's modern interpretation of tweed is revealed - it is flecked with rainbow hues. The jacket fastens with hidden buttons down the front. It has slit cuffs which button inside. It is lined in black stretch-cotton.
