Versace 2000s Necklace Dress

£295.00

Versace Jeans Couture was introduced in the late 1980s following the successful launch of Versus. Versace Jeans Couture offered a more accessible interpretation of Versace’s iconography, often lauching commercial versions of runway looks.

This dress dates to the 2000s when the label changed to pale grey. It is tailored from double-faced fluid jersey with a weighty drape and slight sheen. It has a halterneck cut and A-line silhouette. At the neck sits a removeable faux-necklace, adorned with two Medusa-engraved plaques and a shimmering turquoise metal starfish and fuchsia-pink shell.

Gianni Versace first showed the brand's "Trésor de la Mer" seashell iconography in his iconic Spring 1992 collection and it remains a house signature to this day. Donatella revived this look and went heavy on the starfish and seashell jewellery for Versace's Spring 2018 show.
