Lanvin Spring 2009 Top

This vibrant top walked the runway as part of Alber Elbaz’s Spring 2009 collection for Lanvin. It was also featured in the Spring 2009 issue of 10 Magazine. American actress Jordana Brewster wore the full runway ensemble to an opening in April 2010.

The top is crafted from emerald green silk-crepe with a richly textured rose motif. The body is expertly twisted and draped to create sculptural movement. Elbaz’s mastery lies in such manipulations, transforming simplicity into something covetable. It has no fastenings and three large arm/head holes - how it is worn depends upon the woman. As Vogue described the collection, “It was intellectual and reserved, a quintessence of Lanvin that only Elbaz can achieve”; clothes, they wrote, “to make women keel over with desire.”
